Crytek talks next-gen graphics and CryEngine cloud

A great interview with Crytek about the CryEngine cloud and next-gen graphics, light on details but full of tasty hints:

http://venturebeat.com/2012/06/14/crytek-says-cryengine-3-already-does-awesome-graphics-as-good-as-unreal-engine-4/

According to the article, CryEngine 4 will be shown very soon, probably next week.

Good article, what makes you assume next week though? Not that's i'm complaining I would love to see an update to Cryengine that he speaks of(I tired of texture limits, etc)

The competition between Crytek and Epic is awesome, more power to the indie developers!

They hint at next week for more info about the Trion deal, and I expect it will be accompanied by a trailer for CE4.

What about Unigine? I just recently found out about it and the quality, especially lighting, seems superior to both UT4 and CE3. Demo - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkKtY2G3FbU

Unigine was used to showcase tesselation when dx11 came out, which is quite a while ago. What makes you think it's better then UE4 and CE3? Both of those engines can easily match this tech demo.
I'm quite curious to see what 'CE4' will bring to the table.

I think CryEngine 4 (or whatever they end up calling it) will look pretty much like the 'Cinema' version of the CryEngine

I'm really interested into their cloud approach though.

It just looks more realistic but that may be because of the model / textures / procesing power.

Last time "Very Soon"(tm) from Cevat was 8 months (adding DX11 to Free SDK).

Ok, let's hope it doesn't take that long

No Cryengine 4 update :(

Sure Crytek. What you've done with light propagation volumes and screen space ambient occlusion and local reflections is cool and all, but that is LAST generation technology.

UE4 is sporting real time sparse voxel octree generation and cone tracing GI + ambient occlusion. A GTX 680 is only able to get 30fps in their demo!

The comment of Unigine being superior to both is laughable. If Cryengine 3 is current gen, then Unigine is somewhere between current gen and previous gen.
