Waiting...

... for the new Ruby demo.

I seriously doubt we'll see any tech demo of Ruby/OTOY. Technicaly speaking the demo with the lightstage stuff use an insane amount of data. So I guess that if you shrink them for redist, the quality should suffer a lot, plus OTOY did not release a demo for previous gen (the one with city-robot) I don't see why they will do it now.

My guess is that ati prefers paying studio for pushing real software (like dirt2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=78YuYTiEct0) that make use of DX11, since they are the first on the market.

I realise very well that the amount of data is gigantic, but OTOY can do some heavy compression. The R700 demo was not released because OTOY had trouble with AMD CAL, which was not mature enough. That should be solved with the new demo for R800, since it's using DX11 (that's what Jules says in the video). Also, the R700 demo only ran decently on 2 HD4870 cards and reportedly ran like crap on a single 4850, an extra reason to not release. The new cards should offer enough memory and performance to run the R700 demo. I'm hoping to see at least a video of a new demo when the new cards are officially launched (Sept 22 or 23).

Damnit Anonymous, you were right after all. No sign of a demo, not even a video (apart from the rotating LightStaged Ruby and the NDA'd manga movie clip.) It's strange that only brightsideofnews reported about the manga movie from OTOY. It's really freaking amazing news imo, but most journalists that attended the event didn't care apparently. I hope OTOY will reveal their plans for the Fusion Render Cloud as soon as possible.
